How to Connect Your Custom Domain
A step-by-step guide to using your own domain name with FamousTitle
Overview
Custom domains let you use your own domain name (like mybusiness.com) instead of a FamousTitle subdomain. Your visitors will see your professional domain while you continue to use FamousTitle's powerful editor.
Setting up a custom domain typically takes 5-10 minutes of your time. After updating your nameservers, propagation can take up to 48 hours, though it's usually much faster. Once nameservers are detected, DNS and SSL are configured automatically.
Benefits of using a custom domain:
- Professional branding with your own domain
- Better SEO and search visibility
- Increased trust and credibility
- Free SSL certificate included
Requirements
- A domain name you own (purchased from any domain registrar)
- Access to your domain registrar's nameserver settings
- A FamousTitle account on the Max plan
Step 1: Add Your Domain in FamousTitle
First, tell FamousTitle which domain you want to connect.
- Go to Settings → Domains in your FamousTitle dashboard
- Click 'Add External Domain'
- Enter your domain name (e.g., mybusiness.com)
- Click 'Add Domain'
Step 2: Update Your Nameservers
After adding your domain, FamousTitle will display two nameservers. You need to update your domain's nameservers at your registrar to point to these.
Your Nameservers
Update the nameservers at your domain registrar to the values shown in your Settings page. They will look like:
milan.ns.cloudflare.com
sloan.ns.cloudflare.com
Your actual nameservers may be different — always use the ones shown in your FamousTitle settings.
Nameserver changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide, but most registrars update within a few hours. Don't worry if it's not instant.
Step 3: Check and Activate
Once you've updated your nameservers, return to FamousTitle to verify.
- Go back to Settings → Domains in FamousTitle
- Click 'Check Nameservers' next to your domain
- FamousTitle will detect the nameserver update and automatically configure DNS records and SSL
What happens automatically
Once your nameservers are detected, FamousTitle handles everything else:
- DNS records are created automatically (no manual configuration needed)
- SSL certificate is provisioned automatically
- If SSL takes a moment, a background process will keep checking and activate your domain as soon as it's ready
Your domain will show as 'Active' once everything is configured. This usually takes just a few minutes after nameserver propagation.

Troubleshooting
My domain still shows 'Waiting for Nameservers' — what should I check?
Verify that you've updated the nameservers at your registrar to the exact values shown in FamousTitle. You can check propagation using a tool like whatsmydns.net (search for NS records). Nameserver changes can take up to 48 hours — if it's been less than that, wait and try clicking 'Check Nameservers' again.
My domain shows 'Configuring SSL' and seems stuck
SSL provisioning usually completes within a few minutes after nameservers propagate. FamousTitle automatically retries in the background, so it should resolve on its own. If it's been more than an hour, try contacting support.
I'm getting a security warning when visiting my domain
This happens when the SSL certificate hasn't been fully provisioned yet. Wait a few minutes and refresh. The system continues checking automatically and will activate SSL as soon as it's ready.
I changed my nameservers but nothing is happening
Make sure you click 'Check Nameservers' in FamousTitle after updating your nameservers at your registrar. Also verify that you replaced all existing nameservers (not just added the new ones alongside the old ones).
